Knights Templar Church Donates Bibles to Panay Alliance Church, Panay, South Cotabato, Philippines

How fantastic is this? The Knights Templar Church’s first appeal success! As Minister/Pastor for the church, I a so proud of our members who have donated to this very worthy cause. You can rest assured that these bibles (in a local language) will be well used by the congregation here in Panay Alliance Church.

The Pastor of Panay Church assures me that bible studies will now be significantly enhanced as members can now read along with scriptures. Many elderly members struggle both with their eyesight and hearing (I personally can attest to my own hearing difficulties). So being able to read scriptures that are being taught and discussed is a huge advantage.

In the end, after a lot of prayer and encouragement from the Holy Spirit, I finally decided to change which bibles to buy with your generous donations. Many sermons and teaching here concentrate on the New Testament (but not all). So it seemed sensible to find a more recent translation of the NT in Filipino/Tagalog. I was able to find a Philippine publisher who provided just that. The bibles were a large point text hardback which contained the whole NT plus Psalms and Proverbs. In the end I was able to buy 21 copies (3 of which were leatherette bound copies).

I also chose to go for 10 full bibles (Old & New Testaments) in a 2000 translation from the KJV. In addition to these I got some paperback Tagalog language books containing the Gospel of John, which are ideal givaways for new converts from evangelical outreach. There were also a few freebie booklets from the supplier.

A Massive Thank You

I want to personally thank everyone who has donated to this project. It will make a great difference to local study of the Word of God. Pastor Berdin (local pastor) has indicated that he will set up 3 study groups around the local area, and has agreed that the bibles we are donating will be of great help in those study groups.

There is a significant lack of bibles here, especially those in local language. So praise God for his faithfulness, and for each and every one of you for your kindness and generosity.

When all the bibles arrive, I will present them to Pastor Berdin and the Panay Christian Alliance Church. Photos will follow.
